Drone Attack on Moscow Leads to Over 500 Flight Delays and Cancellations

Sheremetyevo experienced the most severe disruptions: as of 11:00 AM, 50 departing flights and 60 arriving flights were cancelled, with an additional 147 flights delayed. At Vnukovo, 41 flights were cancelled, and 133 were delayed.

At Domodedovo, 25 flights could not depart: nine were cancelled and 16 were delayed. For arrivals, 10 flights were cancelled and another 56 were delayed. At Zhukovsky, at least four departing flights were delayed, and one arrival flight was cancelled.

Rosaviatsia announced that restrictions have been lifted at Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo, while Domodedovo and Zhukovsky are handling flights with prior arrangements.

On June 18th, Ukrainian drones penetrated the layered air defense of the Russian capital and struck the Moscow Oil Refinery in Kapotnya, resulting in a massive fire at the facility. Russian media are referring to this attack as the most extensive in the past two years.
